In a sand clay pot or nonstick pot, place the abalones and water, cover, and bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes. Turn off the heat and let the abalones soak overnight at room temperature.

The next day, drain the abalones and rinse them under cold running water. Wash and dry the pot.
