  • 250 g castor sugar
  • 250 ml water

In a pot, boil the sugar, lemon juice and water to form a syrup. Peel the naartjie with a peeler.

Boil the skin for 4 minutes in a pot of water. Remove from the water and add to the syrup. Cook until the sugar syrup is thick.
