Step aside, avocado toast, and get ready to love the smashed pea toast! Unlike finicky avocado (which can go from unripe to brown in what feels like a matter of minutes), this toast is almost entirely a pantry creation that has the bonus of being a no-cook wonder.
Juice the lemon into a bowl. Add in the peas, sesame oil, and chili powder. Using the back of a spoon or potato masher, mash the peas roughly. You don’t want the mixture to be smooth—it should be still rather chunky. Add the salt and most of the sesame seeds and combine again. Taste to make sure there’s enough salt.
