The year before the bakery opened I was making challah at my synagogue and one of the group was heading off on a trip to Uzbekistan. I had wanted a chekich bread stamp, which are traditionally sold in the market in Bukhara, since reading about them in Gil Marks Encyclopedia of Jewish Food so I asked the gentleman, if he would bring me one back. I had forgotten all about it until over a year later when Roge
