  • 200 g (7 oz) granulated sugar

Method

Place the sugar and water in a small saucepan, over a low heat, stir occasionally. When the liquid is clear and the sugar has dissolved, bring to the boil and then remove from the heat. Set aside to cool and then add the flavouring, if using. Store in the fridge until needed.
