This was created at Peg + Patriot – hence the name E2, its postcode. We wanted to create a drink that looked like beer but was actually made from whisky. The burnt toast syrup, which is in fact made from chocolate malt but tastes like toast, is what gives it the dark colour and it makes it look like a stout.

Ingredients

  • 22.5 ml (¾ fl oz) Cocchi di Torino vermouth

Method

Shake everything except the soda over ice. Strain into your chosen glass and top up with soda.
