This is a real man’s pudding. It has a slight twist on the classic bread-and-butter pudding because it’s flavoured with sultanas soaked in whisky and a hint of marmalade.
Cover the sultanas with the whisky and leave to soak overnight (if you don’t have that long, then see the PS ...).
Butter the bread, remove the crusts and then cut each piece diagonally in half. Spread the marmalade on the bottom of the buttered dish. Arrange the bread in the dish in overlapping layers, sprinkling the whisky-soaked sultanas i
