This is a great starter because both the soup and Melba toasts can be made in advance, making it really simple and stress-free. All you need to do is make the sage butter at the last minute, which takes no time at all. These aren’t huge portions of soup, which is best when serving it as a starter, especially before the rich Redcurrant Venison Bourguignon.
