These are just like posh Jaffa Cakes. I shouldn’t need to say any more to tempt you into making them, apart from the fact that they are surprisingly easy to prepare.
To make the syrup, use a zester to peel strips of orange zest from one of the oranges. Place in a small saucepan with the juice from both oranges and the caster sugar. Stir over a low heat for a couple of minutes until the sugar dissolves. Increase the heat and boil for about 5 minutes until the liquid thickens slightly. Leave to cool and keep at room temperature, not in the fridge, until neede
