This tossed and tangy rice and nut rubble is sold outside every station, school and office in India. It is peddled in newspaper cones, often dry, with a little package of black salt to season. I struggled so much with trying to find an easy name for this on the menu. I’m still not content with names on the Mowgli menu that mean nothing to my English-speaking clients. I will get there. So far I have ‘Tangy Rice Rubble’ or, as someone once suggested, ‘Spicy Cocoa Pops’? ... Nah.
