Cardamom and coffee are a wonderfully synergistic combination of flavours. Remember it is always green cardamom pods that you use in dessert or sweet dishes. They are much more perfumed than the older, gnarled black ones and make a mundane early morning coffee so very exotic and full of promise.


  • 2 heaped tsp fresh medium-ground coffee
  • 2 green cardamom pods, crushed


  1. Take your cafetière/French press and place it on a steady, flat surface, then remove the plunger.
