This is a tea that we often drink when we feel a cold coming on. We boil up the spices with the bracing strong tea and then usually add heaps of sugar and milk as is the wont of many an Indian. There is probably little evidence for its medicinal value, but emotionally it works for me every time!


  • 2 green cardamom pods
  • 1 clove
  • 6 cm/ inch


  1. Add the cardamom pods, clove and fresh root ginger to a pestle and mortar and grind into a coarse paste, then set aside.
