Mushroom gravy is a rich, savory sauce that adds depth to any dish, from roasted vegetables to mashed potatoes. Made with a hearty base of sautéed mushrooms and a touch of fresh herbs, this gravy can easily be customized to suit your preferences.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons salted or unsalted butter
  • 1 shallot or small onion, finely chopped

Method

Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add shallot and mushrooms. Cook, stirring frequently, for 6 to 8 minutes or until mushrooms release moisture and begin to brown. Add wine and cook, stirring frequently, for 3 minutes or until wine almost evaporates. Stir in rosemary and thyme.
