Breakfast is king in Tel Aviv. It is such a lavish affair, with an assortment of dips, eggs, salads and breads spread across the table – yet the shakshuka takes pride of place as the crown jewel. Introduced by Jewish immigrants from North Africa, this dish has been lovingly adopted by Tel Avivians and become a cult classic. It’s the most hearty and comforting dish, with eggs cracked right into the silky tomato sauce that holds so much flavour from all the vegetables, herbs and spices stirre
