Tahina in its various forms is a great Middle Eastern favourite. It is served as an appetizer with Arab bread, and invariably appears as an accompaniment to most cold, and some hot, main dishes.

Tahina itself is a paste made from sesame meal, and can be found in all Greek stores and a few delicatessens.
