An excellent winter drink made with milk and a powdered resin called sahlab (saleb in Greek).2

Ingredients

  • 600 ml (1 pint) milk
  • 1 tablespoon sahlab

Method

Heat the milk. Add the powdered sahlab, beating vigorously, and cook over very low heat, stirring all the time, until it thickens (about 5 to 10 minutes). Serve in cups, sprinkled with finely chopped pistachios and cinnamon.
