Pizza Stromboli

Stromboli is a small island off the north coast of Sicily with an active volcano, hence the name. Stromboli is a stuffed pizza roll, an Italian-American creation often served with a tomato dipping sauce. It’s an Italian bread and a sandwich all in one. The dough is baked with a cheese and sausage filling inside, but it can of course be vegetarian. It’s served in thick slices and is perfect picnic food. You can vary the fillings with any combination of cheeses. Sometimes we add crispy bacon
