This deliciously nutty, light brown yeast bread is ideal for sandwiches and toasting. It has a higher nutritional profile than the white sandwich loaf and great flavour. It keeps and freezes well.

Ingredients

  • 1 heaped teaspoon black treacle
  • 470 ml warm water
  • 20 g</

Method

In a jug, dissolve the black treacle in the warm water, crumble the fresh yeast on top or stir in the dried yeast and allow to stand somewhere warm for 10 minutes, until it froths up.

Put the gluten-free brown bread flour, buckwheat flour, psyllium husk powder, xanthan gum and salt in the bowl of a stand mixer. Mix the dry ingredients together until well combined, then add the egg white
