French Toast

French toast is fantastic, economical and, best of all, uses bread that you’d otherwise throw out – hence the French name, pain perdu, or ‘lost bread’. French toast, poor knights of Windsor and eggy bread are all pretty much the same thing. It’s not only a delicious sweet or savoury way to use up leftover bread, but a crafty way to get eggs into reluctant toddlers.
