The strong, gutsy flavour of tapenade can be an acquired taste. However, it becomes addictive and has become a new basic. Use it as a brilliant dip, pizza topping or drizzle.

It may be tempting to buy stoned olives but try to resist the temptation. Whole olives have an infinitely better flavour. It takes a little more effort to remove the stones, but it’s so worth it.
