Oven-baked bacon with an indulgent twist. Preheat the oven to 160°C (315°F/Gas 2–3). Line a baking tray with baking paper. Pour some caster (superfine) sugar onto a wide plate. Coat the bacon with the sugar by laying it on the sugar on the plate, one strip at a time, and flipping it over with your fingers. Lay the sugar-coated strips of bacon on the baking paper and bake for 25–30 minutes, checking regularly that the sugar isn’t burning. Serve hot or warm.
