My sister Angela and I love this kueh because it reminds us of rubber bands, made all the more appealing because they are edible!

This kueh has to proof before baking for the yeast to do its magic. It was traditionally baked on a charcoal stove. The recipe here uses the conventional oven. In my mother’s recipe, there was no indication of pandan. I have added it here as an ingredient for enhanced flavour.
