My sister Molly and I love this dessert. It is a creamy gula melaka and coconut concoction and is very refreshing when served chilled. The appealing part also is the boat-shaped banana leaf wrapping that it comes in. I remember sitting in the “factory line” helping my mother spoon grated gula melaka and pinning the leaves together with sharp toothpicks.
