Method

  1. Choose thick-skinned grapefruit and slice off both ends. Stand the grapefruits on end and quarter them, then remove two thirds of the flesh from the middle of each quarter, leaving the remaining third attached to the skin. Then cut each quarter downwards into 4 long strips, which will give you 96 sticks 7 cm (3 in) long and 1.5 cm (½ in) thick.
