I only cooked neck slices, until I saw a recipe for whole lamb neck calling for a 1½ pound / 700 g neck. Well, it must have been a baby lamb that I doubt would have even fed two people. My meaty ram neck weighed in at 4 pounds / 1.8 kg, and even then only yielded 1¾ pounds / 800 g of cooked meat (there is a lot of bone).
