This is a simple orange jelly—blood oranges are my choice when they are available; otherwise use regular oranges. Does it taste better than a jelly made from a package? Absolutely yes. Better than an orange jelly made with fresh juice and gelatin? Yes again, but then I’m probably prejudiced because I’ve made it from scratch. It does taste different in a way I can’t describe— and don’t think it will taste meaty, because it doesn’t.
