Black Pancakes

These pancakes are so popular in Finland that you can buy blood pancake mix in the supermarket. I doubt any North American food manufacturer will be adding blood pancakes to their range of pancake mixes, but perhaps they should.

You might think that these wouldn’t be very appetizing, but they are delicious and their very dark chocolate color makes them striking. The rye flour dominates the blood and removes any lingering metallic flavor, so this is a beginner’s blood recipe. In Finl
