  • 1 litre water
  • 1 kg castor sugar


  1. Bring the water and castor sugar to a boil in a stainless steel saucepan. Simmer for 15 minutes, then remove from the heat and allow to cool.
  2. Store the syrup in a bottle in the refrigerator until ready to use - it lasts almost indefinitely.
