Italy has more wonderful desserts than just the ubiquitous biscotti and tiramisu we have all grown so fond of. When in Italy, I search out pasticcerias for traditional regional desserts. One such dessert, popular mostly in Florence but also in other parts of Italy, is zuccotto. Cake, flavored creams, and chocolate are layered in a bowl, refrigerated for several hours, and then inverted and unmolded. The resulting dome shape is said to resemble II Duomo, the famous cathedral in Florence. | S
