This has more texture than bramble jelly, but without the seed you find in bramble jams.
Wash the berries. Peel but do not core the apples and cut them up roughly. Put the fruit in a saucepan with water almost to cover and cook slowly, covered, until reduced to a pulp. Rub through a coarse sieve, adding a little more boiling water. Weigh the strained pulp and to each 450 g (1 lb), add 450 g (1 lb) sugar.
