The succulent meatballs are the stars of this sandwich. If you don’t have homemade meatballs, buy them at your favorite Italian deli. Fresh mozzarella is ideal because it melts right into the sauce, making this the messy, drippy delight it absolutely should be.

Method

Preheat the sandwich grill. Brush the crust sides of the rolls with the oil. On the bottom half of each roll, spread about 2 tbsp of marinara, then layer the halved meatballs, peperoncini, and mozzarella, dividing them evenly. Divide the remaining marinara on top. Cover with
