This gooey panino is not for the faint of heart. With layers of thinly sliced ham, Gruyère cheese, Dijon mustard, and a flavorful homemade cheese sauce, all tucked between grilled country-style bread, it's the ultimate in decadence.

Ingredients

  • French bread or other firm, white country-style bread 4 slices, each about ½ inch (12 mm) thick

  1. Preheat the sandwich grill. Brush 1 side of each bread slice with the butter. Spread the unbuttered sides with the mustard and the cheese sauce, dividing them evenly.
