Pomegranates are delicious served with wine before and after a meal.
To seed a pomegranate, slice off the crown with a sharp knife and make a superficial spiral cut in the skin around it. Press both thumbs into the open crown and pull the fruit apart. Hold each half, seed side down, over a nonreactive bowl and tap the skin with a heavy spatula to dislodge the seeds from the membrane that holds them.
