Method

  1. In a laminated pot, place the barberries and apple juice and bring to a boil over high heat. Add the sugar, cinnamon, cardamom, saffron, and lime juice. Bring back to a boil, stirring frequently. Boil for 20 minutes, or until the syrup is thick enough to stick to the back of a spoon.
