Stromboli is like a pinwheel pizza (as opposed to a calzone, which is similar to a stuffed turnover). It’s a great choice for a party because it can be made ahead and filled with a variety of ingredients. This recipe is a good starting point. Other filling combos include Italian salami, prosciutto, and provolone; pepperoni, mozzarella, and olives; or spinach, mushrooms, and feta.
