Arrabiata sauce is typically used as a simple Roman-style pasta sauce but tastes delicious atop any pizza when you want a little extra spice.
In a large frying pan over medium heat, warm the olive oil. Add the onion and cook, stirring occasionally, until tender, about 4 minutes. Add the garlic and cook, stirring occasionally, just until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Add the tomatoes, Calabrian chiles, and sugar and cook, stirring occasionally, until the sauce is slightly reduced, about 7 minutes. Season to taste with salt and pepper.</
