Method

Find a mixing bowl, a sieve, and a fork for mixing the scones, a measuring jug, a 2" round cutter or a knife for cutting the scones, and a baking tray. Turn on oven heat to hot (400 °F or Gas No 6) and find a pair of oven gloves.

Sift the flour and salt into a mixing bowl. Add the butter and ru
