Find a large mixing bowl and a fork for the pastry, a saucepan, a wooden spoon, a grater and a lemon squeezer for the filling. Find 9" oven proof tart plate. Grease the tart plate, turn on the oven heat to hot (400 Β°F or Gas No 6) and find a pair of oven gloves.
Sift the flour and salt into a mixing bowl. Blend the butter or margarine and vegetable fat together on a plate using a knife.
