I’m a modern girl. Sure, I love making things from scratch, but I am also a fan of convenience and have no problem seeking out a store-bought item to help make life a little easier. Unless, that is, said store-bought item is exorbitantly expensive and can be made in minutes at home (and tastes better to boot). Take vanilla syrup, for example. The fancy stuff you see in coffeeshops and upscale bars? Turns out it’s not so fancy after all, and it often tastes artificial. Vanilla simple syrup,
