Temaki, or “handroll,” is handheld sushi in the shape of a cone. It is the easiest sushi to make and dramatically decorates any party platter. Since it is best made immediately before serving, make the rolls just before a party, or let guests roll their own and choose their own fillings. Serve with wasabi, ginger and tamari or soy sauce on the side. This is our favorite combination of flavors, but feel free to try your own ideas.
