Maamoul

Maamoul is a stuffed pastry; it comes from the word ‘done’ or ‘made’. The dough mix does not require hard work; however, the manual dexterity for stuffing the balls and then putting them into their moulds and baking them is the hardest of all. Usually, people buy the maamoul from specialist shops and they serve them on Eid’s day. In the villages, where it’s hard to go to the nearest city or where people have limited resources, maamoul is often done the day before and sent to the local baker
