I think it’s important to try and make your own alternative healthy versions of fast food: burgers needn’t be seen as an unhealthy meal option. My Grilled Chicken Burgers are flavoured with tomato chutney, packed full of protein, contain hidden grated carrot and are grilled rather than fried for a guilt-free family favourite.

Ingredients

  • 50 g/2 oz fresh white breadcrumbs
  • 1 red onion, finely chopped

Method

Preheat the grill to high.

Put all the ingredients (except the oil) in a food processor and blitz until finely chopped and well combined. Transfer the mixture to a bowl and season lightly with salt and pepper.

Shape the mixture into 10 burgers and flatten them slightly.
