It’s important to keep mealtimes interesting for children and orzo is a great alternative to pasta. This dish is pure comfort in a bowl and full of goodness – it’s the ultimate failsafe family pleaser.

Ingredients

  • 50 g/2 oz white bread, crusts removed
  • 4 tbsp milk

Method

To make the meatballs, put the bread and milk in a bowl and leave to soak for 5 minutes, then mash with a fork. Put the soaked bread in a food processor with the remaining meatball ingredients (except the pasta and oil) and blitz until finely chopped. Transfer the mixture to a bowl and shape it into 24 balls.
