My French toast triangles are the most heavenly breakfast treat. Top with a spoonful of berry compote or a dollop of yoghurt and a drizzle of maple syrup.


  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 2 medium slices of country-


Beat the eggs and milk together in a wide, shallow bowl. Add the bread slices and soak them in the egg mixture for 1 minute.

Melt the butter in a frying pan over a medium heat, add the soaked slices of bread and fry for 1–2 minutes on each side until golden, then sprinkle each slice with a teaspoon of icing sugar. Remove from the heat, cut each slice into triangles and arrange them on 2
