These tiny Siberian dumplings are traditionally accompanied by red wine vinegar, melted butter and ground black pepper. Russians expect to eat about 40 pelmeni at a time, but this is, of course, not obligatory. It is customary to make pelmeni in advance and freeze them, to be cooked from frozen as needed. Leftover pelmeni are delicious fried in butter.
