Al Ulawi Soup

Al Ulawi soup has been a part of my existence since I was little, as far as my memory goes back. The first time we visited Madinah during Ramadan, we had it at our host’s house as a pre-starter, served in traditional decorative silver bowls. Warm, aromatic and comforting to such an extent that my weary little soul fell asleep straight away after having it. (We had had a very long and tiring journey to Madinah from Jeddah.)
