This deep black hummus holds a constellation of starry flavours and deserves a place on the table with its strikingly pink counterpart (the beetroot hummus opposite). I often serve these together in a yin-yang design. It is a majestic showstopper that packs a punch.
Follow the steps for the OG hummus, replacing the classic tahini with black tahini. (A word of caution: black tahini varies in taste and strength, so please begin with a tablespoon at a time, tasting to your preference.)
Spoon it into a serving dish and decorate the way you like with the pine nuts and sesame seeds. Serve with warm toasted bread, vegetables or whatever you fancy.
