A very versatile dish, typical of Indian street food, that can be eaten as a starter, side dish, light lunch or snack. During school holidays in Bombay, we would hang out at the local cafés and food stalls along Chowpatty Beach. One of our favourite snacks was Masala Vadai, served in dried-banana-leaf bowls. They would be lovely with both the Tamarind Chutney and the Green Chutney.
