The pounded walnut relish is a pantry staple, with hard-boiled egg added for extra richness to balance the ramps. It is good on lots of things beyond ramps and will hold in your refrigerator for a couple of days before the walnuts get too soggy. If your oven isn’t on, you can always toast the walnuts in a frying pan on the grill.
