A beautiful and delicate torte, which separates into three ribboned layers upon baking.


  • 1 cup poppy seeds
  • cups boiling water
  • 8 egg yolks


Pour the cups of boiling water over the poppy seeds in a bowl to scald them. Let soak for 1 hour, then drain through cheesecloth. Set aside to drain well.
